Rf 115 Metal Cutting Band Saw Manual: How to Operate and Maintain Your Saw

Whether detachable or integrated into a sound level meter, an octave band analyzer receives its daily calibration in conjunction with the sound level meter with which it will be used. This might involve activating an additional setting during the daily meter calibration. Consult the user's manual for the equipment you will be using.

Some octave band analyzers can be set to automatic function (i.e., the instrument automatically checks the sound level of each frequency band and stores the results). Other instruments require the user to manually switch between the different frequency bands, recording each reading in sequence.

Sawcraft offers mitre cutting bandsaws across the complete range of manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic saws. The models provide either single mitre or double mitre options depending on whether you need to mitre one way or both left and right. The stand mitre angle is 45 degrees however some models allow mitre angles up to 60 degrees.

NOTE:When using a WOOD Cutting band saw for cutting metal (saw running about 3000 BFPM) hardened metal will not be able to be cut. Bandsaw blade speeds between 75 and 300 BFPM are required to cut hardened materials and receive favorable blade life. If your wood saw has two speeds, use the slow speed for cutting soft metal.

As with a bi-metal blade design, there are advantages to differing tooth constructions. The carbide tipped tooth has carbide tips welded to a high strength alloy back. This results in a longer lasting, smoother cutting blade.

The number of teeth per inch (TPI) is important in obtaining the finish desired and the proper feed rate. A coarse tooth blade (2, 3 TPI) should be used for re-sawing wood and cutting thicker stock up to 8" thick. A fine toothed blade (18 to 32 TPI) should be used for thinner metals and plastics under 1/4". For general cutting of 3/4" plywood 6 TPI will provide a fast cut and 14 TPI will cut much slower but leave a smooth finish on the cut.

It is not always possible to adhere to the above recommendations due to the cutting operation you intend to perform and the particular band saw you are using. To maintain extended fatigue life of the blade, select the thinnest blade possible that will offer you the appropriate number to TPI to perform you cutting operation.

ITM provides Australia's biggest range of metal cutting saws. Featuring high quality & heavy duty industrial metal cutting saws including bandsaws, cold saws, friction saws, and T.C.T. saws for industrial applications & workshop use.

Thanks to the superior tungsten carbide tipped blade, no grinding or cool downtime is needed when you use a T.C.T cold cut saw for your metal cutting. Compared to a standard blade, tungsten carbide is twice as stiff and dense as steel, delivering enhanced cutting power. Achieve a faster, cleaner cut with a T.C.T blade as this stronger blade can deliver higher surface speed and a well-maintained level of chip load per tooth.

Always take extreme caution when operating any type of metal cutting saw, as the blade is extremely sharp and the machinery can be very heavy. Before setting up your saw, ensure you are wearing safety glasses to protect your eyes as well as earmuffs or earbuds to protect your ears from the high noise levels.

If you will be cutting through metal, it is best to choose a blade that has several teeth along the outer rim. It is also important to make sure the blade you are using is in good condition. If any signs of damage can be seen on the saw, it should be replaced.

We recommend using metalworking fluid with your cold saws and bandsaws. This fluid acts as an effective coolant system to provide an excellent surface finish while cutting. This lubrication will also extend the life of your blade by inhibiting corrosion. 2ff7e9595c
